Exhibition: Photo Slideshow

This tip is only for devices running webOS 2.1 and higher

One of the Exhibition modes that come pre-loaded on your webOS 2.1 device is the ability to run a slideshow of the photos, essentially turning your phone into a digital picture frame every time you place it on the touchstone. As long as you have the "Photos" mode set to ON in your Exhibition Preferences, the next time you enter exhibition mode, just swipe down from anywhere on the top of the screen to get the listing of exhibition-enabled apps and choose Photos.

Once a photo appears, you may see header along the top of the screen and a set of icons along the bottom. If you do not, tap once on the screen to make them appear. There are a variety of actions that you can perform here:

  1. On the top right, you will see the current folder of pictures that are selected for the slideshow ("Miscellaneous" in the attached screenshot). Tap that button and you will be presented with a listing of all available folders to choose from.  Sadly, there does not seem to be a "All Photos" option at this time
  2. The bottom-left icon ( ) allows you to shuffle the images in the select folder or play them in sequence
  3. The bottom-center icon ( ) allows you to start the slideshow. Anytime you tap on the screen, the slideshow will stop and you will need to press this button to reactive it
  4. The bottom-right icon ( ) allows you to select the duration of time between photos. Currently, you can select 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour, although there is a patch in Preware to add 30 seconds and 1 minute options
  5. You can also manually swipe right or left across the images on the screen to go to the next or previous picture
